Film Production is such an active class, we are always working on a new project. We learned different shot types, we made two short videos on walking to school, we made a PSA about the poultry industry and our latest project was to give an example of continuity. This is a valuable skill to be able to have because we are able to use modern technology.
The artifact I choose to show was my video on continuity. It was quite a journey. I definitely learned how to work on a short time period. We had taken 2 weeks to work on our video, my model was great though. I chose this for my artifact because I felt this was something I was very proud of. It was my first experience working with cameras and my improvement was definitely something to be proud of.
My video on continuity was an exciting and was very proud of it. This project was a hassle, my model was amazing, there were a few moments we had difficulties but that was more based on the time we had. We went out after school and filmed out at a ranch, it was more of a quick and fun activity. I succeed at this project because I knew exactly what I wanted, I had practiced different camera skills. I learned about how I should manage my time, I really learned that I could put good work out if I really tried.
My most recent project in film showed that I was able to think creatively and to apply technological skills for the 21st century. I made a video that I wasn’t able to think of without thinking creatively. And most importantly I was able to put technological skills into this, we used cameras and computers to edit.
I believe this was one of my most successful videos. I am proud I was able to put new computer skills to the test
The project was about recreating a scene from The Office and it required me to direct a crew and edit a clip. The process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with picking a scene then filming and directing. Throughout this process listed about I have realized I have grown in the following ways, I was able to take charge and edit my video even if I had some moments that were not perfect. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of being able to edit and be responsible for my own project. This tells me I learned I could be a director.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are thinking critically and creatively and being a self directed learner. I have demonstrated thinking critically by problem solving different issues I had during my video. The second SLO I demonstrated was being a self directed learner because I was able to take charge of my own problems. I could have improved the following SLO better by using more school wide learning outcomes.
Overall the most important things I have learned in this class this year are to edit and learn new camera shot types. These skills in this class will help me in the future in case I want to pursue this in a future career.
