During my volunteer hours at the Jacobs Heart Outdoors Day the learning objectives are to take in experience and get hours for school. This is valuable to my future because schools want that diverse experience. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for my Volunteer tab had the following learning objectives of taking the experience. These link back to the course learning objectives by taking the experience and also the hours.
The assignment was about finishing my community hours and required me to complete them in some form. The process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with signing up to volunteer then going about my day finishing what I needed to finish and help the kids on their activity. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned how important it is to continue diverse experience options. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of finishing my volunteer experience. This tells me the following about myself and how I can manage what needs to be done.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are mastering skills needed in career and college and representing self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship. I have demonstrated mastering skills needed in career and college because that’s one of the most important things they would ask for, a diverse experience. The second SLO I demonstrated is representing self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship by participating in a volunteer event and quite literally represented myself through my community. I could have demonstrated thinking critically and creatively better because I could’ve done much more.
Overall the most important things I have learned in this volunteer event was how important these skills are. I have learned it is important to have a diverse experience.
